24 May Looking forward by SEYI OBAKIN
Looking forward, we have reframed our mission. The Foundation will enable young people to reach their potential by giving them a voice, encouraging them to believe in themselves, and supporting those facing disadvantage financially.
In the UK, this means we will focus on connecting young people to career opportunities for the future and continue to support talented ones who need it financially. Thus, our popular annual career fetes will now be held twice a year, from next year, in areas of most need. Where possible, we will align this with work experience and mentoring. The next Tobi Adeyemi Foundation Career Fete will take place on Saturday 21 September. Please consider joining us to showcase your profession for a few hours on that Saturday morning and widen young people’s horizons.
In addition to the fetes, we will take opportunities to visit schools for assembly and motivational speaking. We will be building a bank of speakers to enable us maximise opportunities as this grows over time. If you would like to join the bank, please let us know.
Finally, we will continue to financially support talented young people to maximise their potential in sports, the arts, music and academic.
Internationally, we will continue to work through trusted partners across the world to educate young people who would otherwise not be, for financial reasons.
